Phenoxyethanol provides broad antibacterial coverage, caprylyl glycol conditions skin while boosting antimicrobial activity, and food-grade sorbic acid covers yeast and mold — together delivering full-spectrum protection at 0.75–1.5% in emulsions, gels, and surfactant systems. Paraben- and formaldehyde-free, with each component safety-reviewed, it is ORY^®’s small-batch workhorse for the slightly acidic pH most skin and hair products use. In your custom cream, lotion, serum, toner, gel, mask, shampoo, conditioner, leave-in, curl cream, foundation, primer, setting spray, or mascara, it keeps water-based formulas fresh and safe for every skin and hair type, with a soft skin feel from caprylyl glycol. Customize your formulation with complete protection in one bottle. Caution: Works only at pH ≤6 — not for alkaline liquid soap. May thin some emulsions (test stability); sorbic acid can rarely sting — patch test.
