It is a moisturizing emollient, thickener, and emulsion stabilizer — not a drying alcohol — reviewed as safe by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Panel, and lipids of this class support barrier comfort in dry-skin care. In your custom lotion, cream, body butter, or cleansing balm, it gives every skin type a soft, velvety, stable texture and helps reduce water loss.
